Thanks to all our loyal friends and readers who voted — and in some cases tried to vote — for us in the Taiwanderful.net 2nd annual competion for The Best Blog in Taiwan Awards.

After easily winning Best General AND Political Blog in Taiwan last year (2008), this year we had to Bust a Net and get competitive. We ran a fierce horserace with Hsinchu Asked in Northern Taiwan, General category, and were running neck-and-neck until THE LAST DAY OF VOTING, Dec. 20th! Then, in an exciting sudden, 11th-hour surge, YOU helped us win out, 140 to 132 points. What a turnaround!

Jar of Buttons won the General category this year, with over 300 popular votes, and Taiwan Matters! reaped a well-deserved award in the Political category. Congratulations to all of our peers!
